WGST Visiting Lecturer Position

The Department of Women & Gender Studies at Texas Christian University invites applications for a Lecturer position (nine-month position, non-tenure-track) for the academic year 2021-2022. The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester in the core WGST curriculum and must incorporate interdisciplinary and multicultural perspectives. The ideal candidate will be able to teach threshold concepts in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, including social construction of gender, intersectionality, privilege and oppression, and feminist activism. The position requires a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level with a normal teaching load of four courses per semester. Service contributions to the department are expected. The successful candidate will join a small but energetic department which awards Bachelor of Arts and Science degrees, undergraduate minors and certificates as well as graduate certificates and is supported by a large group of faculty affiliates from across the university.

Required qualifications:
• A Master’s degree in women, gender, and sexuality studies or in another discipline with significant women, gender, and sexualities studies background and experience OR 18-hours of graduate training in classes with significant emphasis on women, gender, and/or sexualities studies.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching women, gender, and sexualities studies at the college level.

Preferred qualification:
• A PhD completed by August 1, 2021 in women, gender, and sexuality studies or in another discipline with significant women, gender, and sexualities studies background and experience.
