A warm welcome to Idea Factory’s newest Executive Designer in Residence Jesse Herrera. The Founder and Executive Director of CoAct implements design thinking skills to attempt to tackle some of our world’s most crucial social issues. Mr. Herrera’s degree in architecture from the University of Texas, Arlington and his expertise in human centered design allows him to better identify the underlying challenges that impact our community such as food insecurity, college homelessness, housing insecurity, and the implications of a global pandemic. Mr. Herrera believes in doing the hard work and sits on several different boards and task forces to improve the Tarrant County community. Jesse expresses, “My time with Idea Factory was an inspirational journey into the possibilities of design in the social spectrum. It was an opportunity to learn from aspiring problem solvers, and share insights to help us think more critically on how we serve our communities through design. Together we learned about the intricacies of food insecurity and explored innovative solutions to empower the communities and organizations addressing this pressing issue.” IdeaFactory is thrilled to have Jesse Herrera on our team to challenge and expand our notions of design thinking and assist us in our mission of making a positive impact in our communities.
