Stacy Landreth Grau, Ph.D is an professor of entrepreneurship & innovation practice in the Neeley School of Business as well as the Director for IdeaFactory since 2019. She created and teaches several classes on design thinking and human centered design and consults with several organizations to help them design more effective solutions to their problems.

Cedric James is an Assistant Director of TCU IdeaFactory. Human-Centered Design is the framework and core of his involvement with student projects, coaching and community efforts.

Eric Simanke, Ph.D. is the Founding Director of the IdeaFactory. He is the Robert A. Welch Professor of Chemistry and current department chair in organic chemistry. Eric started IdeaFactory out of the College of Science and Engineering to provide an avenue for science students to create and prototype their ideas.


Bruce Nelson
Executive Designer in Residence for IdeaFactory 2020-2021

Bruce Nelson is a senior UX Design Executive specializing in Digital Transformation and Design Strategy. Mr. Nelson has directly supported over 30 digital transformation initiatives for top global brands and his expertise spans multiple disciplines including: UX design and research, customer experience strategy, digital transformation, management consulting, e-commerce, integrated marketing communications, brand strategy, advertising strategy and UI design/development.

Bruce is currently the Vice President of UX Design and Innovation at Sabre where he leads design strategy, research and UI design teams that support over 30 Sabre products across 3 business units: Airlines, Travel Agencies and Hotel brands. Prior to Sabre, he spent 17 years at IBM where he helped establish IBMiX, one of the largest global digital agencies, leading global teams focused on Customer Experience Strategy as well as leading the Global Mobile Center of competence. Clients at IBM included: Apple, Samsung, J.P Morgan, Citi, Royal Bank of Canada, The National Bank of the Virgin Islands, Target, Walmart, JC Penney, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Tiffany & Co., Fabergé, Sub-Zero/Wolf.
Mr. Nelson was also the Vice President of e-commerce for GameStop, where he established the e-commerce division and created and launched the GameStop brand. Earlier in his career, Bruce held several senior executive marketing and advertising positions as well as establishing and leading digital divisions for three global management consulting brands.
Today, he applies an agile, design-thinking approach to create user experiences that both connect with a wide range of user needs and motivations and drive tangible business results.
