COVID-19, if anything, has made us more nimble and entrepreneurial . We are now able to reach more students at more times. We still book online pitches on Fridays. Through these virtual sessions we have been able to effectively run ideation sessions and teach groups how to prototype. Don’t let your distance be a deterrent.
Simply put, the IdeaFactory serves as the campus hub for innovation and creativity for social impact. While we have many relationships with specific schools on campus, we do not turn students away or put on an intimidating front for those who may otherwise be completely new to the world of social innovation. The IdeaFactory seeks to teach students human-centered design, prototyping, ideation, and effective problem solving. The IdeaFactory, with the assistance of the FAB Lab, uses hard-skills like Adobe XD, Figma, design sprints and 3D-printing to produce hi & lo-fidelity mock-ups and presentable prototypes to help students visualize and bring their idea to life.
