CRES Student Research and Creativity Symposium Award Applications
CRES offers the following student awards as part of our bi-annual CRES Student Research and Creativity Symposium.
For 2019, the application deadline is March 31st and the CRES Student Symposium will be held on April 15th from 3:30-5pm in the Kelly Center.
We want to highlight all the wonderful accomplishments of our students in meeting our mission to:
“…critically examine racial and ethnic identities as an essential step in becoming ethical citizens and leaders in today’s global community. In addition to examining the experiences of marginalized communities in the U.S. and beyond, to encourage students to explore race and ethnicity as active social, political, historical and cultural processes and use race and ethnicity as categories of analysis across time and space.”
Currently, we are offering 4 awards:
- A Community Engagement Award for Social Justice projects that involve students collaborating with local community members
- A Creative Activity Award for literary works, visual art and performances that demonstrate the CRES mission
- An Undergraduate Research Award for individual or group research projects that reflect the CRES mission
- A Graduate Research Award to help financially support independent research that reflects the CRES mission
