Creative Activity Award
The CRES Award for Creative Activity is an award, sponsored by the CRES Research, Creative Activity and Community Engagement (RCCE) Committee, given to students engaged in the arts (creative writing, dance, theater, fine arts, etc.) that best engage the CRES Department mission:
Comparative race and ethnic studies critically examines racial and ethnic identities as an essential step in becoming ethical citizens and leaders in today’s global community. It is an academic and community-oriented program that values respect, inclusiveness, creative expression, dialogue, engagement, inquiry and academic excellence.
Award Amount:
A 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner will be selected. The 1st place project will receive a $300 gift certificate. The top ten submissions will be invited to the annual awards symposium and banquet.
Eligibility:
- Students who belong to one of the following categories:
- CRES majors
- CRES minors
- Students with a CRES emphasis
- Students taking CRES attribute courses
- Undergraduate students from any field or major engaged in projects that relate to the CRES mission
Application Instructions
Complete the form below and be sure to attach your submission (Word.doc, PDF, .JPG .mpeg OR a link to a YouTube Video in the description of your work). Video performance’s must not be longer than ten minutes.
Deadline for submission: March 31st.
