International Students at TCU
The School of Interdisciplinary Studies and each of its departments and units, strongly oppose what we believe to be an inappropriate and xenophobic guidance issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which announced that nonimmigrant F-1 and M-1 international students enrolled at institutions offering only online courses for Fall 2020 will be required to either transfer to schools holding in-person classes or else exit the United States. International students are a vital part of our community. They enrich our classes and contribute to the life of our university in immeasurable ways. International students deserve the right to make decisions about their own health and safety, and universities should have the right to make decisions about public health, without fear of jeopardizing international student visas. We hope that all members of the TCU community, especially our leadership, will do what is in their power to resist harmful and xenophobic policies and to support international students at TCU in tangible ways.
